It’s been hot and muggy all week long, but the rain train arrives Friday.

At about 7 p.m. Thursday showers and storms took off in the Southwest.

Heavy rain systems will spread into central Oklahoma, including the Oklahoma City metro, Friday, providing a cool front.

One to two inches of rain are expected in the metro. Some areas to the South and Southeast of Oklahoma City may pick up an isolated amount of eight inches of rain.

Flooding is the only severe weather threat for Friday.

Saturday there is a continued chance of light showers in the metro.

A Flash Flood Watch will be in effect for much of the state from 7 a.m. Friday through 1 p.m. Saturday.
