Two Earthquakes Above 3.0 Magnitudes Jolt Oklahoma

An earthquake shook up residents in Logan County late Thursday afternoon. And one another shook up residents in Major County Thursday night.

The first, a 3.4 magnitude earthquake, struck at approximately 4:17 p.m. Its epicenter was located just six mile south, southeast of Langston, 11 miles east of Guthrie, 19 miles northeast of Edmond, and 31 miles north, northeast of Oklahoma City.

It was around three miles deep.

At this time, no one has reported any damages or injuries associated with this earthquake.

Around 9:16 p.m., a 3.0 magnitude earthquake was recorded near Fairview, Oklahoma. Its epicenter was located 19 miles outside of the town, and 36 miles east of Woodward, and 47 miles west of Enid.

It was about five miles deep, and no injuries or damages were reported.

According to the United States Geological Survey (USGS), earthquake with magnitudes ranging from 2.5 to 3.0 are generally the smallest ones felt by humans. Damage is more likely with earthquakes at magnitudes 4.0 and higher.
