A now former Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office Investigator has been booked into the Oklahoma County Jail for a fight he had with his live-in girlfriend this past summer. He stands accused of chocking her when she tried to escape.
According to court records, Jason Ledford, 40, was booked into the Oklahoma County Jail Tuesday, October 13. He is charged with one count of domestic abuse by strangulation.
Ledford’s charge stems from an incident back on July 26, when he and his then girlfriend had a fight at their apartment after going out drinking.

According to a protective order filed by his girlfriend, she said she got sick and was in the bathroom when Ledford attacked her. She claimed, “He dragged me into the bedroom, restraining my arms and choking the front of my neck. I kicked him off me and punched him in the nose out of defense and quickly ran to the door.”
Ledford did admit to being drunk and getting into an argument at the scene but didn’t recall how the situation escalated. He also said he didn’t dispute what his girlfriend said, it’s just he couldn’t remember what happened.
Although the protective order was dismissed in September, an arrest warrant was filed by the DA’s office October 5.
Michael Johnson, Ledford’s attorney, says they plan on fighting the charges in court.
Ledford is currently out of jail on bond. A preliminary hearing has been set for November 19.
