A cool morning is in progress with a southerly breeze. But that will not last long.
A strong cold front is going to roar across Oklahoma starting in the late morning. By the mid day it will make it into the metro bringing colder temperatures and strong north winds 20-35 mph. Those winds will be a factor in wind chill on your skin and also increasing the wild fire danger.
Some of the wind gust may produce brief 40 mph plus winds. So prepare and dress for that.
This cold front will not be a wet one. We may see some drizzle and or a little light sleet. The regions northeast of the metro and into neighboring states may see some winter precip so if you are traveling that way, keep an eye on the updated forecast.
Tonight, winds will decrease some and overnight lows will send us into the teens so plan for that in the morning. Milder weather is on the horizon for us.
