After a season that started with such high expectations ended in a 40 to 6 shellacking at the hands of the Clemson Tigers in the Russell Athletic Bowl, heads were bound to roll. And it appears the first head on the chopping block was Co-Offensive Coordinator Jay Norvell.

Norvell was hired onto the Sooners' coaching staff as assiatant offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach in 2008. He was later promoted to Co-Offensive coordinator following the departure of Kevin Wilson to Indiana in 2010.

Once thought to be a surefire lock for the inaugural College Football Playoff, the Sooners finished off a disappointing 2014-2015 season at 8-5.

Norvell may just be first domino to fall in what many expect to be a tumultuous offseason for Bob Stoops' coaching staff.

Oklahoma defensive coordinator Mike Stoops has already been linked to the vacant DC position on Les Miles' staff at LSU.
