A metro band says it was played like a fiddle at a music festival in Joplin last weekend.
"Restless Sun" has played at a handful of venues around Oklahoma City and Norman. They say they were invited to play at last weekend's Joplin Music Festival and Bikini Bash.
The band's drummer John Chevere says they were supposed to play at 3 p.m., but he says a representative with St. Louis Record Company "Tha Nod Factor Records" kept putting the band off with excuses, while several other bands played.
He says after six hours, his band packed up and left.
"It's absurd," he said.
An executive with the record company Friday tells News 9 Restless Sun missed their 3 p.m. start time because some of their members had left to make a beer run. Chevere calls that ridiculous.
"Yeah, whenever we have three or four thousand dollars in equipment behind the stage, we're not just gonna leave a grab a beer," he said.
Chevere says he estimates his band and their families spent more than a thousand dollars for gas, food, and hotel rooms during their trip to Joplin.
