OKC Man Arrested For Trying To Have Sex With Underage Girl

Deputies from the Canadian County Sheriff's Office arrested a 38-year-old man accused of arranging to meet who he thought was a 15-year-old girl for sex.

Mark Owens was taken into custody Wednesday, June 19, in a convenience store parking lot near Mustang Road and Reno Avenue. Investigators with the Internet Crimes Against Children unit created a post online from an undercover deputy pretending to be a 15-year-old girl. Owens responded to the post, asking the "girl" to meet him for sex.

On Wednesday, Owens sent the undercover deputy a text, saying he wanted to meet the underage girl at lunch time for sex. When Owens pulled into the convenience store parking lot, he was arrested by Canadian County Sheriff Randall Edwards, deputies, and two Secret Service agents.

Owens was booked into jail for facilitating, encouraging, offering or soliciting sexual conduct with a minor. He was also arrested for felony possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Owens' bond has been set at $55,500.
