Oklahoma State and Boise State have signed a contract to play a home-and-home football series, the two universities announced today.
The two-game set will begin Sept. 15, 2018, in Stillwater and conclude Sept. 18, 2021, in Boise. Those games will be the first ever between the two institutions.
"It's a good non-conference matchup for both of us," Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy said. "It gives us each a quality opponent out of conference play, which is ultimately going to factor in when we get to the four-team playoff."
Oklahoma State and Boise State are among the two winningest football programs in the country since 2008. Over the last five seasons, Boise State has won 61 games to tie for the most in the country and Oklahoma State has won 49 games, ninth most at the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) level.
The Boise State series continues a recent trend of intersectional non-conference football games for Oklahoma State. The Cowboys open the 2013 season against Mississippi State in Reliant Stadium in Houston. OSU begins the 2014 season against Florida State in Cowboys Stadium in Arlington.
Oklahoma State recently completed home-and-home non-conference series with Washington State (2008 and 2010) and Georgia (2007 and 2009).
