Guthrie Family Talks About Winning Flat Safe Shelter From News 9

A Guthrie family's life changed one year ago when they had twin boys. They knew they needed a safe place to go during Oklahoma's unpredictable weather.

"How are we going to do this? How are we going to afford a storm shelter? And that's when news 9 was having the giveaway," Cassie Harrison said.

Cassie Harrison's husband, Nick, was confident he was going to win a Flat Safe Shelter when he called News 9 during last May's giveaway.

"I thought he was kidding because he was on the phone and he was ecstatic and I said you are just pulling my leg," Harrison said.

Nick wasn't kidding. We were there when Flat Safe converted the Harrisons garage into a safe haven from storms.

"It's like winning the lottery for our family," Harrison said.

It was a jackpot providing peace of mind.

"Every time storm season comes out, you always get a little nervous. Okay what are we going to do if something comes? Now I don't even have to think about that," Harrison said.
