Homeowners in Edmond are fired up over a plan to build a new apartment complex next door.

Arbor Creek, east of I-35 and just north of 2nd Street at Saints Boulevard, features brand new homes.

Homeowners say when they built their homes they were told the land to the west would eventually have office space.

The developer now plans to try to rezone the land to make way for apartments.

"You hate to say not in my backyard. Never the less, that's not what we've been told," says Belinda Cole, an Arbor Creek Homeowner.

Homeowners says neighborhood streets can't support the traffic that comes with an apartment complex.

The developer says the original zoning plans allow for the City of Edmond to zone the land multi-family and allow for the apartments.

The Edmond Planning Commission is hearing both sides of the issue Tuesday at 5:30 at Edmond City Council Chambers.
