Le'Bryan Nash put on a scoring clinic in Ft. Worth Wednesday night, dropping 28 28 points on 12-16 shooting as Oklahoma State crushed TCU 64-47.
The 28 points is a new career-high for Nash, who was the only Cowboy in double-figures. Marcus Smart's nine points on 3-10 shooting was good for second-best on the team.
But the No. 15 Pokes didn't need a lot of scoring; their defense was plenty good. OSU held the Horned Frogs to 15-55 shooting (27.3 percent) and forced 13 turnovers. Kyan Anderson led TCU with 15 points while Devonta Abron added 12 off the bench. No other Frog scored more than five.
The Cowboys (21-6, 11-4) shot 55 percent from the floor but just 2-10 from 3-point range. TCU kept this one close, trailing just 26-23 at the 5:00 mark of the first half, but OSU closed the first on a 12-1 run to take a 38-24 lead into the break. Nash scored the first three buckets of the second half as the Cowboys opened up a 44-24 lead. It took TCU until the 14:35 mark of the second to get on the board.
OSU has won nine of its past 10 games and hosts Texas in Stillwater on Saturday afternoon. TCU (10-18, 1-14) heads to Texas Tech this weekend for a matchup they might actually have a chance to win.
