Oklahoma Sooners linebacker Tom Wort may be headed to the NFL Draft according to reports.
News first broke about the possibility when former OU football player Justin Chaisson, Wort's roommate his freshman year at Oklahoma, announced Wort's intentions via Twitter.
ESPN SoonerNation's Jake Trotter later reported he had confirmed with a source that Wort did indeed plan to enter the draft.
Wort, a redshirt junior from New Braunfels, Texas, finished the 2012 season with 52 total tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, and two sacks, the worst statistical season of his career.
The departure of former defensive coordinator and linebackers coach Brent Venables, who took the same position at Clemson last January, was hard on Wort, who was very close with Venables. Wort didn't experience the same relationship with new linebackers coach Tim Kish, clashing with the new coach throughout the season.
Underclassmen have until Jan. 15 to remove their name from draft consideration if they have not hired an agent.
