Hundreds gathered into the rotunda of the Devon Energy Center to commemorate the completion of the $750 million project.

The 50-story Devon Energy center is 850 high from the street and has 1.8 million square feet.

"When we built this building we got a lot of people who said are you going to let us come up and see the view," said Devon Co-Founder and Executive Chairman, Larry Nichols.

Nichols and Devon tried to meet those requests with the "Vast" restaurant on the 50th floor.

The facility also a 285-seat auditorium, a five-story gargen and Rotunda, multiple state of the art conference rooms and a 60,000 square foot Wellness Center.

"It's a great economic benefit to our state and it sends a signal to the rest of the nation that Oklahoma City is a great place to invest," Oklahoma Governor Mary Fallin said.

OKC Mayor Mick Cornett said the building strikes a chord emotionally with people who have seen the city struggle at time during the 80s and 90s.

"It's very, very important," said Mayor Cornett, who along with the Governor and Nichols, was on hand for the ribbon cutting at the Devon Energy Center.
