Three More Earthquakes Shake Central Oklahoma Friday

The U.S. Geological Survey has recorded three more earthquakes that struck central Oklahoma Friday afternoon.

Officials said a 2.7 magnitude earthquake was recorded at around 2:09 p.m. The epicenter was two miles northwest of Johnson, four miles south, southeast of Meeker, eight miles north, northeast of Shawnee, and 38 miles east of Oklahoma City. It was about three miles deep.

Less than one minute apart, another 3.3 magnitude earthquake struck the area at around 2:10 p.m. Officials said its epicenter was three miles north of Johnson, four miles southeast of Meeker, nine miles west, southwest of Prague, and 39 miles east of Oklahoma City. It was also about three miles deep.

The third quake was reported at 3:24 p.m. and registered 3.2.  It was centered three miles northwest of Prague.

No injuries or damage were reported in these three earthquakes.

A 3.7 magnitude earthquake was recorded on Thanksgiving Day this year in Lincoln County.
