NORMAN, Oklahoma – Oklahoma's Nov. 26 home game against Iowa State has been moved from a 7 p.m. start time to an 11 a.m. kickoff that same day, the Big 12 and its television partner, FX, announced Tuesday.

OU athletic director Joe Castiglione said the changes have to do with previous night game kickoffs and the cooler temperatures of a late-season game.

"Our fans have remained loyal through six night games this season with two more on the horizon," he said. "Of those, four have been in Norman and we've heard from many fans who have driven home in the very early morning hours. For that reason, and because we feel like a day game may provide warmer temperatures for a late-season game, we have endorsed the idea of moving this game to a day-time start."

Before the season started, the game was announced as a 7 p.m. kickoff to be played on FX, but Castiglione said the scheduled time might have been a little premature.

"We appreciate the desire to get times out there early, but in this case, it probably would have been best to wait," he said. "We hope that by providing information about the change nearly three weeks before the game, we can help to mitigate any impact it might have on fans traveling to the game."

The Iowa State game will be the second-to-last game of the regular season for the Sooners, who will travel to Stillwater for Bedlam on Dec. 3.
