In August, Shakil Fields entered a blind guilty plea to assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and intimidating a witness. He was scheduled to be sentenced Friday afternoon at the Oklahoma County Courthouse, but the judge made a surprising announcement.

Judge Jerry Bass said he didn't know what do with Fields, and called him a ticking time bomb.  He postponed sentencing until November 23.

Prosecutors said Fields attacked 16-year-old Blake Sanchez in February.  Sanchez suffered several head injuries after witnesses said Fields stomped on his head several times in a school bathroom.

Fields said he became violent after he heard someone in the bathroom use a racial slur. Witnesses have testified it was not Sanchez.

Fields' attorney David Slane is hoping for a light sentence. Slane said Fields accepts responsibility and has apologized for the incident.
