OKLAHOMA CITY – A Norman man pleaded guilty Wednesday, July 6, to the conspiracy of buying and selling Bald Eagle carcasses and feathers.

William Creepingbear is a member of the Kiowa tribe.  He was indicted on May 17, along with Tuhtaka Neshoba Wilson, a member of the Choctaw tribe, for conspiracy to illegally possess, transport, and sell a Bald Eagle carcass and Bald Eagle feathers for profit.

Federal prosecutors say in June of 2008, Creepingbear informed Wilson he was looking to obtain eagle feathers.

At sentencing, Creepingbear faces up to five years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
