Shilpa Abbitt and Carolynn Parker ran two marathons this weekend, and they say they're just getting started.
The two completed a marathon in Nashville before participating in the eighth annual Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon on Sunday.
Their goal is to run 60 marathons, one in each state. So far Abbitt has completed 10 and Parker has finished 20.
Parker and Abbitt met at a race years ago and both work at Devon Energy.
Parker said she was motivated to run the OKC marathon after listening to the story of a bombing survivor.
"She had 26 surgeries and all I have to do is run 26 miles," Parker said. "It's a piece of cake."
Abbitt said she wants to run one race for every day her 6-year old son was in the hospital with a brain tumor.
"Every time I think it gets hard, I think of what my son and other children, what they're going in," Abbitt said.
Abbitt said her son, Austin, is doing great following his treatments.
