Oklahoma City Police nab a serial robber in the metro.
In some cases, he robbed payday loan companies on more than one occasion. When the cashier asked him why he kept coming back for more, he told them because times were hard.
"He just came in and gestured to me, you know what I want," said Nicole Henson, one of nearly a dozen cashiers confronted by the suspect, 29-year-old Johnathan Hubbard.
Henson and several cashiers described Hubbard as arrogant in demanding money from their registers.
"It just scared the crap out of me. I didn’t know what to do besides just give him what he wanted," said Henson.
None of the cashiers were actually face- to-face with Hubbard because he wore the same disguise in nearly a dozen robberies: A bandana, a hoodie and gloves masked his identity in nearly one dozen robberies.
According to Oklahoma City Police reports, Hubbard hit the Courtesy Loan on July 18. Before that, he allegedly robbed the Approved Loans, Express Loans and Signature Loans, making comments like, "I will not hurt you. Just give me the money."
Oklahoma City Police Sgt. Jennifer Wardlow said Hubbard began robbing the payday loan companies as early as May 9. In some instances, Hubbard would allegedly get disappointed with his takes and ask "Is that all? Give me all the hundreds," too.
If he couldn't get more, cashiers claim he threatened to return.
"As he was walking out he said ‘I will be back,’" said Henson.
Fortunately, for Henson, police arrested the robber before he got the chance
"I'm glad he is off the streets and can leave us all alone now," she said.
Oklahoma City Police said it appears Hubbard also worked outside of city limits. He is considered a suspect in a robbery in Warr Acres and five cases in Moore.
