The record heat will continue for the next couple of days as highs climb into the upper 90s and lower 100s. Worsening drought conditions, combined with strong south winds, will lead to extreme wildfire conditions through at least Wednesday.

There is some relief in sight as another mid-level storm system approaches from the west. This will give us a slight chance of isolated storms Tuesday afternoon along and ahead of a dryline.

Another chance for scattered storms in central Oklahoma Wednesday afternoon and evening. Rain chances are at 30% on Wednesday. Any storms that can develop and organize will have the potential to be severe with hail and wind the main threats. The tornado threat will be low, but not zero.

Our best chances for decent rain will be overnight Wednesday into Thursday as the main mid-level wave moves through.

Temperatures will be back closer to normal for this time of year on Friday as a cold front moves in.
