Almost a week ago, I made my first trip to Guthrie, OK for one of our News 9 Road Trips. I wasn't sure what to expect, but having heard a lot about its history, I was excited for the experience. We started at the Blue Belle Saloon for some delicious lunch, a history lesson of the building, and a meet and greet with some very friendly folks! I told everyone I saw that I wanted to make a return trip at some point in the near future with my camera and take in all of the history and buildings. You can expect a follow up post when I do!
After lunch, Stormtracker Val Castor and I went to Guthrie Middle School and spoke to the 7th graders about storms, tornadoes, and all of the associated safety tips. Val shared a lot of his stormtracking stories and showed some pretty awesome videos. And of course, Val brought his awesome truck and all the students kept taking picture of and with it. It certainly draws your attention!
If you came out to Guthrie and said hello, thanks! I loved my first trip there and can't wait to go back! I took just a few pictures with my phone, which you can see here. There will certainly be more to come!
