Multiple Agencies Battle Large Fire After Gas Line Explosion In Piedmont

Multiple agencies responded to a large fire after a gas line explosion Wednesday night in Piedmont.

The fire was located near Piedmont Road North and Waterloo Road.

Flames reaching 50 to 100 feet in the air were visible, viewers reported.

Logan County, Canadian County, and Kingfisher County Sheriff’s Offices all responded with Piedmont Fire, Cashion Fire, and Oakcliff Fire.

The Kingfisher County sheriff told News 9 a high pressure gas line was possibly hit.

The sheriff said there are reports of severe damage at the Waterloo and 2950 intersection.

Crews were able to put out the flames. Firefighters continued to respond to grass fires caused by the explosion.

At this time there have been no reports of injuries.
