Married Couple Reunited In OKC After COVID-19 Delays

After a two year wait Cassidy Jackson can finally welcome her husband to his new home in Oklahoma City. 

"Just waiting for it to be honest, had so many setbacks, but I knew it was going to come," said Cassidy's husband Alex Aldridge. 

It's a love story as old as time. Girl sees boy on Instagram.

"I thought he was cute, but I was like, I won't follow him, that's a bit weird," said Jackson.

Girl still follows boys, but boy hesitates.

"I see it and said, that can't be real, that's a catfish bot," said Aldridge.

But Alex dropped a line anyway. They messaged back and forth and soon after Cassidy tagged along with a friend to Dublin and met Alex in person.

"Two days after we met, I just knew, I was like, yeah, this is it," said Jackson.

They married August 2018. Alex applied for a visa to live in America the next month. That's when things got rough.

Delay after delay, then the pandemic grounded the process to a halt.

Their mental health was deteriorating, as was Cassidy physically.

"I had lost 20 pounds, I couldn't sleep, I couldn't eat, and I got a letter from my doctor that I turned into the United States Embassy in Dublin, for an expedite request and they approved it, and that's why he's here now," she said.

Their lives no longer grounded; the couple is looking forward to their future together.

"Now we can start looking for a home and start planning a big wedding. Now we can begin our lives."
