Multiple Okla. House Members Test Positive For COVID-19

The State Health Department and the State House are tracing contacts for two representatives who tested positive for COVID-19.

The Tulsa World reported that Wellston Representative Kevin Wallace and Ardmore Representative Tammy Townley are both quarantining after testing positive for the virus. They said they're not showing any symptoms and only got tested because it was a requirement for an event.

Wallace was reportedly sworn in early on Wednesday while in quarantine, as well as other members who were in close contact with him. So far, the other members have not been named.

Thursday, the legislature found out about Tammy Townley's COVID-19 test results.

In a statement Townley reportedly said quote "I tested positive for COVID-19 antibodies this summer and for that reason had zero reason to believe I was a transmission risk this week.”

She added as soon as she found out, she immediately alerted House leadership.

The Tulsa World reported that Representative Townley was seen not wearing a mask for part of the ceremonial swearing in.
