IMMY Labs plans to give out 2,000 COVID-19 vaccines during a clinic Friday.
So far the Oklahoma State Department of Health says 10% of eligible Oklahomans have gotten their COVID-19 vaccine. The state wants to continue the momentum so they are using other entities to help.
So far IMMY Labs has vaccinated 2,500 people in a couple of days. The vaccines are coming from the state.
Friday's event is taking place at an Embassy Suites in Norman. There are no more appointments available Friday but they encourage people to register for future events.
JT Harrison is the Vice President of Sales and Marketing for IMMY. He said, “Our goal is to continue each time we do it to continue to increase the availability of appointments, to get as many as possible, and to do it as quickly and safely as possible too.”
Their registration portal is separate from the state’s portal.
Something unique about their system is they automatically schedule you for your second appointment once you register for the first.
They ask that only those who are eligible register with them for a vaccine. Right now, that includes healthcare workers, first responders, and those age 65 and older.
Seeing people finally be able to get the COVID-19 vaccine means a lot to Harrison,
“So it’s been fun to see you know this phase of people come through the last couple days and just see the relief and hope that they have that they made it, they made their appointment and that is what we want to be a part of,” said Harrison.
