A jury found Hall guilty of being the getaway driver for David Ware, who is accused of shooting and killing Sergeant Craig Johnson and shooting Officer Aurash Zarkeshan, last summer.

Sergeant Johnson’s wife and son both read victim impact statements in the courtroom before sentencing.

Sergeant Johnson's wife said there's no number of years Hall could get that would justify any of Hall’s actions. His son said the pain and emptiness of losing his dad is unthinkable.

Hall's attorney says the Judges decision is unfair.

He argued that Hall shouldn't be punished twice for only committing one crime and even asked the judge to dismiss one of the counts, or merge the two together.

Prosecutors argued that Hall didn't just commit one crime.

They say he drove Ware away from the shooting, and Hall took Ware’s gun apart and dumped part of it in the river and part in the woods.

Judge Musseman agreed with prosecutors that Hall chose to help Ware every step of the way.

"Those are very distinct particular acts designed to protect a killer and help him get away with the cri of killing one police officer and shooting another,” said Assistant District Attorney Kevin Gray.

Hall’s attorney Brian Martin disagreed and said "That's what he did was one continuous act and the law is quite clear that he should not be punished multiple times for doing one thing.”

Hall's Attorney plans to appeal the judges decision first thing Tuesday.
