The Oklahoma Highway Patrol confirms three people were killed Tuesday in a head-on collision on southbound Interstate 35, just south of Guthrie in Logan County.
News 9 was told two semis were involved in the crash.
Authorities at the scene said roads were very wet at the time of the crash. However officials said it is undetermined if the wreck was weather-related.
According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, all lanes of southbound I-35 are closed south of Guthrie at mile marker 149.
Local law enforcement and crews are detouring traffic off at Seward Road (mm 151) to Sooner Road and back on at Waterloo Road (mm 146). Crews estimated the closure lasting into the overnight hours.
Drivers should expect delays or avoid the area and locate an alternate route.
