Police are urging residents in an Edmond neighborhood to stay inside due to an active investigation.

Police shot an armed suspect accused of opening fire Tuesday in an Edmond neighborhood.

The suspect was taken into custody.

Officers were called to the 3700 block of Oakridge Circle near 2nd Street and Interstate 35.

Residents were urged to stay inside during the active situation.

Police said shots were fired at the scene.

Authorities confirmed the suspect was shot once. He was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

No officers were injured.
