Tuesday night, the community has a chance to weigh in on reform recommendations for the Oklahoma City Police Department. The city wants public feedback on a list of proposed police department changes from consultant group 21 CP Solutions.

Some of the top issues include changing the police department's de-escalation procedures, protocols for officer-involved shootings and use of force, providing independent law enforcement accountability to the community and alternative responses to mental health calls.

Oklahoma City councilwoman Nikki Nice is hosting the forum, she says it will be one of the last opportunities for residents to weigh in on the recommendations.

The Law Enforcement Policy Task force and City attorneys will also be involved.

Up next, a report that includes Tuesday’s public feedback will be sent back to the consultants, who will implement it into their final report this fall.

That report will then be presented to the City Council for possible adoption.

Tuesday's forum starts at 6:30 at Pitts Park near Northeast 20th and Prospect.

Masks are recommended if you're going in person, there will also be a virtual option through zoom.
