One man is now behind bars in connection with a deadly home invasion. It happened earlier this month near Guthrie.

About 2:30 a.m. on October 1, a man called 911 and said he heard multiple people trying to break into his home. Investigators said that's when he grabbed his gun.

"He had fired his gun toward sounds that were coming in from his residence," said Brook Arbeitman, Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation spokeswoman.

The homeowner told officers he hit one of the intruders after Logan County deputies responded to the scene.

"They found a deceased female there in the home and anybody else who had been with her had left the residence," Arbeitman said.

The person killed was identified as 44-year-old Trini Salazar. Detectives began piecing together the evidence at the scene to figure out what exactly happened.

"It is a break-in involving multiple people and there is a person deceased," Arbeitman said. "It's just a unique investigation."

Arbeitman said the homeowner was helpful in providing information. Thirteen days after the incident, investigators were able to track down 45-year-old Jesse Bramlett.

"He is facing charges that include murder in the first degree, burglary in the first degree, and burglary in the second degree," Arbeitman said.

Bramlett is facing a murder charge because investigators said he was committing a felony with Salazar when she was killed. Now, OSBI is looking into if other people may be involved.

"We're looking for anybody who might have any information as to who might be involved in this break-in to call us," said Arbeitman.

Officials said no one else was hurt during the break-in.
