Burglary Suspect Taken Into Custody After Being Rescued From Chimney

A woman was arrested after getting stuck in a chimney and attempting to break in to a northwest Oklahoma City home Sunday morning.

Authorities responded to a call of a potential burglary Sunday morning near Northwest 36th Street and North Ann Arbor Avenue.

When police arrived they confirmed the suspect, 35-year-old Kelly Birdsong, was stuck inside the chimney of the home and she wasn't wearing any clothes.

The people who lived at the home told police they were asleep when they heard footsteps on their roof and a loud bang coming from the area the chimney was located.

Rescue crews worked to remove Birdsong for over an hour.

Birdsong was uninjured, taken into custody and transported to the Oklahoma County Detention Center.
