Two people died in storms that caused extensive damage across parts of central Oklahoma. Those storms produced up to a dozen tornadoes, some of them strong tornadoes.
Family members identified Mike Bradsher as one of the fatalities from a tornado that struck the town of Cole in McClain County. The second death was an adult woman, but she hasn't been named yet. The tornado hit Cole early Wednesday evening, part of a storm that eventually made its way to Shawnee, causing extensive damage to Oklahoma Baptist University and homes near Shawnee High School.
There was a third death reported to News 9 Thursday morning, but it turned out to be only two.
North and southbound US-177 is closed between Farrall Street and Kickapoo Spur in Shawnee due to downed power lines.
In Cole, all lanes of east and westbound State Highway 74B have been closed between SH-74 & SH-76 due to downed power lines as well.
The Scissortail Silos event center was destroyed by the storm, its proprietor told News 9 via email.
