Storms Sweep Through Oklahoma; More Expected Over The Weekend

Severe storms are sweeping across the state Friday and more are expected as we go into the weekend.

Friday morning's storms caused flooding for some, and several thousand Oklahomans were left without power.

Another wave of storms is expected to hit parts of the state later this evening and overnight into tomorrow morning.

Alerts:

11:15 p.m.: Heavy rains, lightning, & wind gusts to 45 mph moving into the metro at this time. NO Severe Storms are currently in the state as the line of storms continues to slowly weaken. The line is moving east at 35 mph.

10:30 p.m.: A Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been issued for Carter, Cleveland, Garvin, Jefferson, Kay, Logan, Love, McClain, Murray, Noble and Oklahoma County until 1:00am.

10:15 p.m.: A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued for Caddo, Comanche, Grady and Washita County until 11:00 p.m.

10 p.m.: A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued for Comanche and Tillman County until 10:45 p.m.

9:45 p.m.: A Flash Flood Warning has been issued for Beckham, Custer, Roger Mills and Washita County until 12:45 a.m. Saturday.

9:30 p.m.: A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued for Comanche, Jackson, and Tillman County until 10:15 p.m.

9:25 p.m.: A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued for Blaine, Caddo, Canadian, Custer, Dewey, Kingfisher and Washita County until 10:30 p.m.

9:20 p.m.: A wall of wind, lightning & very heavy rain that will be in the metro in about 30-45 mins. Numerous reports of 50-60 mph gusts along with rainfall over 1.5" in 30 minutes. The line is moving east at 40 mph.

8:25 p.m.: A line of strong to severe storms capable of producing winds to 70 mph, small hail, and very heavy rains continues east at 40 mph. The strongest storms right now are near Cheyenne to Elk City.

8:20 p.m.: A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued for Beckham, Greer, Harmon, Jackson and Washita County until 9:00 p.m.

8:15 p.m.: A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued for Beckham, Custer, Dewey, Ellis, Roger Mills, Washita and Woodward County until 9:00 p.m.

7:30 p.m.: A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued for Beckham, Ellis, Greer and Roger Mills County until 8:30 p.m.

7 p.m.: A Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been issued for Alfalfa, Beckham, Blaine, Caddo, Canadian, Comanche, Custer, Dewey, Ellis, Garfield, Grady, Greer, Harmon, Harper, Jackson, Kingfisher, Major, Roger Mills, Stephens, Tillman, Washita and Woods County until 1:00 a.m.
