Storms Bring Visible Damage To Tuttle, Bridge Creek; Thousands Without Power Across State

Several counties have declared storm warnings in response to a system of severe weather moving across the state.

Several parts of the state received damage after severe storms swept their way across the state Tuesday morning.

Tuttle And Bridge Creek Storm Damage

In Tuttle, high winds left debris strewn over parts of the town, and downed power lines in the area have left residents of Tuttle and Bridge Creek without power.

"I kind of felt... a shockwave, I didn't really think much of it, probably ten minutes later the power went out." " Tuttle resident Jayden Ferrell said. "I went out to my mom and my sister and they said there was an RV in our yard."

Across the state, severe thunderstorms and heavy rains led to storm warnings and flooding advisories from the Oklahoma City metro to the Kansas border.

Power Outages Across Oklahoma

More than 6,700 Oklahomans are without power after severe storms battered parts of the state.

Storms are expected to move eastward as the day progresses, meaning many in eastern Oklahoma will experience rain and storms much later in the morning.

Lightning Causes Fire In Southwest Oklahoma City

Lightning has also been a hazard for Oklahomans, sparking at least one house fir in southwestern Oklahoma City near Mustang.

The Oklahoma City Fire Department said residents near Southwest 51st Street and South Czech Hall Road reported a large flash and flickering lights around the time the fire began.

OKCFD said lightning struck a house in the area currently under construction, but that there were no injuries.
