A mild November night across Oklahoma will lead into a wet start Wednesday as showers and thunderstorms move in, bringing possible downpours and a few lightning strikes during the early commute.

Currently sitting at 61 degrees with light southeast winds late Tuesday night, Tulsa can expect rain to reach the area by 5 a.m. and continue through the morning. However, the storms are not expected to bring severe weather.

Overnight, clouds will increase as winds hold steady, occasionally gusting up to 12 mph. Early showers are expected to impact northern areas like Bartlesville and Osage County by 2 a.m., moving towards Tulsa just before dawn.

As the main line of showers moves east, heavier rain is likely between 6 a.m. and 9 a.m. for areas along Highway 75. The rain will taper off by mid-morning as the front clears the state line.

Clouds should linger in eastern areas before sunshine returns by afternoon, with temperatures climbing to the low-to-mid 60s for a seasonable day. Areas south of Tulsa may even reach the low 70s.

A beautiful Thursday awaits, with morning lows dipping into the 40s and a sunny afternoon expected to reach the 60s.

Evening events like Route 66 Christmas in downtown Sapulpa will enjoy pleasant conditions, with temperatures around 59 degrees at 6 p.m.

Looking ahead, expect a calm weekend before the next storm system arrives Monday, bringing the chance of thunderstorms followed by a drop in temperatures.

By mid-next week, colder air will settle in, with morning lows possibly dipping into the 20s and afternoon highs only in the 40s and 50s.
