After some overnight storms, prepare for a scorching hot day! Highs will range from 100 to 106 and the heat index will range from 105 to 115 degrees!
What will the weather be like on Friday?
Oklahoma is dealing with extreme conditions on Friday, with excessive heat warnings in areas where it will feel like over 110 degrees with the heat index.
Winds are gusting up to 30 mph at times, which is more wind than we've had all week, and the sky will be mostly sunny, reaching 90 degrees by 12 p.m. and hitting highs in the low 100s in the afternoon.
When you factor in the humidity the low 100s could feel like 110 degrees or more in a few areas.
Heat exhaustion could lead to heat stroke easily on a day like Friday, so be sure to take extra precautions, drinks lots of water and stay cool when possible.
It will be dangerously hot today from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m., so please stay hydrated and take plenty of breaks today to cool down.
Friday night and into Saturday morning, we could see a few scattered showers.
Saturday afternoon will be very hot once again, with highs around 100 degrees with heat index values up to 110.
A weak cold front moves into northern Oklahoma, and will try to spark thunderstorms in the afternoon. If storms develop, they could produce damaging winds and large hail.
The cold front sweeps through and Sunday will be a bit cooler. Highs in the upper 80s and low 90s. Still a chance for a few scattered showers.
