The cold front is moving through Oklahoma on Friday, and it will be 10 to 15 degrees cooler than on Thursday.

We're tracking rain Friday morning, and will have off and on chances in the afternoon. The highest rain chances Friday afternoon and evening will be in southern and southeastern Oklahoma.

Around the time of kickoff for OU's game against Temple, temps will be lingering in the lower 80s.

However, by halftime and the second half of the game, temps will have dropped to the mid 70s.

There's a chance for a few thunderstorms later on Friday, with lightning and gusty winds possible.

The severe risk is low, but a pulse severe storm or two can't be ruled out.

What will the weather be like this weekend?

There's only a slight chance of rain for central Oklahoma this Saturday and Sunday.

In Stillwater, the Cowboys will take on South Dakota State, with temps hanging around the mid 70s near kickoff.

Later in the game, temps will have climbed into the mid 80s, and will stick around that area for most of the afternoon.

A few more scattered showers into the weekend with highs in the 80s. Those mornings will have a fall feel.

  4. If you do not have air conditioning, find a cooling station or public space (such as libraries or malls) during the day.
  5. Don’t limit your use of air conditioning.
  6. Use the buddy system if working outdoors and check on elderly neighbors.
  7. Keep a cellphone on you at all times when outdoors, including walking, running daily errands, yard work or sports and physical activity.
