Rain And Storms Possible As Approaching Cold Front Brings Fall-Like Conditions

What will the weather be like on Thursday?

One more hot day tomorrow before changes arrive. Highs in the 90s across the area feeling like near 100 with the heat index. Showers and storms become likely in the northwest tomorrow evening and push south through the state with the cold front on Friday. Rain chances & 80s continue this weekend!

Scattered rain and storm chances continue off and on Friday.

Highs on Friday will drop into the 70s and low 80s.

Although unsettled as we head into the holiday weekend, it won't be a washout! Expect it to be feeling like fall for several days into next week.

EMSA HEAT SAFETY TIPS

1. -HYDRATION is key in preventing heat-related illness. Drink plenty of water or electrolyte replacement drinks several hours before and during long exposure to the summer heat.
2. Wear light-colored, loose fitting clothing and a wide-brimmed hat if working outdoors, and take plenty of shade breaks.
3. No alcohol or caffeine.
4. If you do not have air conditioning, find a cooling station or public space (such as libraries or malls) during the day.
5. Don’t limit your use of air conditioning.
6. Use the buddy system if working outdoors and check on elderly neighbors.
7. Keep a cellphone on you at all times when outdoors, including walking, running daily errands, yard work or sports and physical activity.
