Happy first day of December!
November gave us a little bit of everything, from unseasonably warm, spring-like days to a quick pivot into winter as the cold air settled in.
For many, last week marked the first freeze of the season, which is unusually late for this time of year.
We'll see below-freezing temps Monday morning as cooler weather sets in across Oklahoma.
This morning, temperatures across Oklahoma are hovering in the mid-20s, with a biting north wind adding to the chill. In northern and eastern parts of the state, patchy fog is making an appearance, particularly in areas like Bartlesville and Stillwater, where frost is thickening on surfaces. Oklahoma City remains clear and cold at 30°F, and road conditions are generally good.
The forecast calls for highs in the mid to upper 40s today, with sunny skies providing a welcome reprieve from the frosty mornings.
We are expecting clear skies with a north breeze at 10 to 20 mph.
Tonight will be very cold! The skies will be clear, and winds will be light. Look for thick frost and lows in the lower 20s. Lows in the northeast could see teens.
What is the weather like in Oklahoma for the rest of the week?
The next few days will bring a mix of chilly mornings and milder afternoons, with temperatures climbing into the 50s and even low 60s by midweek.
Tomorrow highs will be near 50 degrees.
We climb back into the 60s on Wednesday, but another cold front moves in late in the day. We might see a few showers in southern Oklahoma ahead of the cold front Wednesday.
The weekend promises mild conditions with highs reaching the 60s and possibly 70s before another cold front sweeps in early next week.
