The eastbound lanes of Interstate 40 have been completely blocked after a rollover crash Thursday morning left one person dead near South Anderson Road in Oklahoma City.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol said Sonu Nehra, 26, was driving a semitruck when he departed the roadway to the right for an unknown reason, and overcorrected while re-entering the roadway.

OHP said Nehra then struck the center barrier wall, resulting in his vehicle rolling over.

Nehra was not wearing a seatbelt, OHP said, and was partially ejected through the passenger side window during the roll, with the truck coming to rest on top of him. Nehra was pronounced dead at the scene.

30-year-old Amninder Singh, a the passenger in the semitruck, was admitted to the hospital.

The cause of the crash is not yet known.

This is a developing story.
