Two people were taken into custody after a chase Friday morning in eastern Oklahoma City, police say.
Oklahoma City Police said they were trying to attempt a traffic stop on a vehicle on Southeast 15th Street near South Prospect Avenue.
The vehicle then drove through a red light before the pursuit was initiated, according to police.
Police said the vehicle then went through several Del City neighborhoods, traveling at 50 to 60 miles per hour. The vehicle eventually made its way onto the eastbound lanes of Interstate 40 and turned off their lights.
The suspect's vehicle then made an abrupt turn in front of two other vehicles traveling in the outside lane, police said. The two other vehicles slammed on their brakes to avoid crashing into the suspect's vehicle, according to police.
The vehicle then exited off the highway to head towards South Sunnylane Road. Police said they were about to cancel the pursuit when the suspect's vehicle hit a curb and crashed in a field in the area.
Police said no one was injured in the crash.
The driver, Kaden Gibson, and passenger, Curtis Brazille, were both arrested and booked into the Oklahoma County Jail, police said.
Police said they searched the vehicle and found a large gallon bag with about three pounds of THC and cannabis gummies. Two digital scales were found, which police said could've been used to distribute the gummies.
