Oklahoma City police say 61-year-old Alan Provost was threatening to kill his next-door neighbor on South Indian Meridian Road.
That neighbor, Jason Featherstone told officers he heard Provost asking for a rifle and then saw Provost carrying something that looked like a gun.
"Basically told the wife and kid, I was like, 'hey, go in the back of the house. You know, just hang out back there unless the cops come by and tell us to evacuate,'" said Featherstone.
Police in a report says when they arrived on the scene -- they could hear Provost yelling threats -- saying things like they're "All going to go down."
The area was evacuated as a precaution.
"I could hear him yelling at the cops. It was kind of like, 'I'll protect my land. I'll shoot ya!' I was like, 'what?!'" said Featherstone.
Police staged themselves a safe distance from Provost's home ... And eventually arrested him.
"It's definitely quieter around here. Him yelling stuff at people is not anything new. It was the first time I know, at least since we've lived here in the year we lived here, that he's presented a gun at somebody," said Featherstone.
Police say once Provost was in custody, he became angry and lashed out at officers. But he was booked into the Cleveland County Detention Center without issue on two complaints of threatening acts of violence.
