2 Dead In Crash Along Highway 9 Near Tecumseh

Two drivers were killed in a head-on crash near Tecumseh, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

Lawfton Edwards, 74, was driving eastbound on Highway 9 and Paula Click, 77 was driving westbound, according to OHP. Edwards departed the roadway to the right, overcorrected left, crossed over the center line and struck Click's vehicle head-on.

The two drivers were pinned in the vehicles for over two hours before the Tecumseh Fire Department was able to extract them, according to OHP. Both drivers were pronounced dead on the scene.

Part of Highway 9 was closed Friday afternoon because of the wreck.
