Police released a video on Wednesday of four people they believe are connected to a deadly shooting at the Lincoln Inn hotel in northeast Oklahoma City. The victim was found dead in a hallway on the second floor of the hotel last weekend.

The family of 28-year-old Joel Vanhook-Rodriguez is all too familiar with tragedy. They lost their father to gun violence 13 years ago on the same day as the deadly shooting at the Lincoln Inn.

“It’s unbelievable I just don’t understand why someone would do that to him,” said Gabriela Vanhook-Rodriguez, the victim’s sister.

Sisters Gabriela and Isabela Vanhook-Rodriguez lost their brother on their mother's birthday and the anniversary of their father's death.

“I don’t think it’s hit us yet,” said Vanhook-Rodriguez.

Police said Vanhook-Rodriguez was shot and killed around 3 a.m. on Sunday at the Lincoln Inn hotel.

“For him to be all the way on that side of town,” said Vanhook-Rodriguez. “We don’t understand why.”

Investigators released video from the hotel of the people they believed were involved in the deadly shooting.

“It’s three males and a female you get a really good look at them on video,” said Msgt. Gary Knight, Oklahoma City Police Department. “We’re hopeful that somebody out there will know them.”

The victim's family wants the suspects to know who they took from them.

“An amazing brother, an amazing uncle, and amazing son,” said Vanhook-Rodriguez.

As they hold tight to memories, they now must face a future without their loved one.

“We want justice for my brother,” said Vanhook-Rodriguez. “Because this is not OK.”

The sisters said they do not know the people their brother was last seen with at the hotel. At this time, police do not know the motive for the shooting.

Call the homicide tip line at (405) 297-1200 if you recognize the suspects in the video
