Traffic is backed up on the northbound lane of Highway 169 after a fatal crash involving a large truck.

Southbound US-169 lanes are re-open at 36th Street following the crash, according to the Oklahoma Department of Transportation.

All lanes of northbound US-169 are still closed between Pine St. and 36th St. N. due to a crash. Northbound traffic is being diverted off at Pine.

The highway is likely to be closed for several hours and will most likely impact evening commutes. Owasso drivers should plan to take an alternate route for the next several hours as officers process the scene and get the road safely reopened.

Tulsa Police confirmed that this was a fatal crash and that there was a lot of debris on the road. The truck involved in the crash appears to have hit the center barricade, spilling large rocks and gravel on both sides of the highway. The driver of the truck died in the crash.

Drivers should expect delays for both northbound and southbound traffic on Highway 169 and possible road closures.
