Tulsa County is one of 29 in the state currently under a burn ban.

Chief Meteorologist Travis Meyer said since Sept. 1st, there has been less than a half-inch of rain in Tulsa.

The burn ban comes after persistent drought in the region leading to dry conditions.

The burn ban prohibits outdoor burning, including controlled burns, bonfires, fire pits, and chimineas. Grilling and welding over a non-flammable surface are permitted.

The burn ban will remain in effect until noon on Oct. 28.
