Tulsa Police are investigating after they say an innocent 11-year-old girl inside a home was shot in the leg Monday near 46th Street North and Martin Luther King Junior Boulevard.
Police believe two groups of teenage boys were shooting at each other around 4:30 p.m.
Officers said the girl was expected to be okay and that she was just standing in the kitchen when a bullet went into the house and hit her in the leg.
Police say bullets hit several cars and houses in the area, but they believe they were all caught in the crossfire.
Another bullet hit a TV in the girl's home and went into a bedroom.
Officers say they do not have any vehicle or descriptions of the shooters.
Police say it’s been hard to get information on the shooting and hope people who saw something will come forward.
"We really encourage anybody out here in the neighborhood that has video, that might have seen something, to reach out to us and let us know what happened,” said Captain Matt Arnold with Tulsa Police. “Because fortunately, the individual, the young lady that was shot is expected to be okay, that very easily could have been different."
