A Tulsa man is accused of setting fire to a Tulsa business in 2024.

Asm Ismail was arrested on Friday in connection to a fire at Peoria Foodland near South Peoria Avenue and East 61st Street on August 14th.

Firefighters said fires were set on the sales floor and in the storage room. Investigators found traces of gasoline in several areas, including where the security system equipment was located.

They said surveillance video from earlier in the night showed Ismail let a woman in through the back of the store and they talked several times.

Investigators say video and photos of the woman show her hiding in the back of the store until everyone left, and then she poured cooking oil on the floor.

No one was inside the store at the time of the fire, and there were no injuries reported.

Ismail was booked into Tulsa County jail on a charge of 2nd-degree arson. If you recognize the woman in the video, contact Crime Stoppers at 918-596-COPS.
