Police report reveals details of Murdock arrest

Details on Dan Murdock's arrest were made public in a police report on Monday.

Murdock has been general counsel for the Oklahoma Bar Association for almost 20 years, overseeing the recent effort to have city attorney Mike Gassaway disbarred. The 62-year-old lawyer was reportedly at a wedding party on Saturday evening in a suite, the police report read. At some point in the evening, Murdock made advances toward a woman in her mid-thirties, police said.

"Mr. Murdock invited the victim to a separate suite, at which time there was some inappropriate touching, which was non-consensual," Oklahoma Police Sgt. Paco Balderrama said.

Murdock asked the woman if she was "a tease like all the other women," according to police. The woman said Murdock then "pulled down her top and bit... on her breast." When the woman tried to leave, Murdock grabbed her by the hair and bit her on the back of the neck.

Murdock also grabbed the woman before she was able to escape, police said.

"There was some marks on the victim which were consistent with her story, and after people were interviewed, he was placed under arrest," Balderrama said.

A second man, 52-year-old Robert Mark Abraham of Oklahoma City, was arrested in a related incident, on an assault and battery complaint, police said.

"That's for throwing the victim's friend down, in the parking lot, allegedly choking her until security guards could run up there and take him into custody," Balderrama said.

An official with the Bar Association said this incident is a confidential, personnel matter. Murdock's personal attorney, Tom Riesen, said Murdock is very-well regarded in the legal community and has never been arrested before. He went on to say his client did nothing inappropriate and has no intention of resigning.

Police said they don't know whether Murdock and the other man who was arrested were friends, but both men did cooperate in the investigation.
