OKLAHOMA CITY -- Oklahoma native Toby Keith is known to millions for his career in country singing, but has recently grabbed the attention of many after speaking out about Presidential candidate Barack Obama.
Keith was being interviewed by Glenn Beck, a conservative radio talk show host when he said the following:
"I'm saying that's what I think they would say...Even thought the black society would pull for him, I still think in the back of their mind that the only reason that he is in is because he talks, acts, and carries himself as a Caucasian."
Keith said the comments he made during the radio interview were taken out of context, and he fully supports the democratic candidate and the Democratic Party.
"I'm a lifetime democrat, but I really see that we have the best democratic candidate that we've had since Bill Clinton," Keith said.
While Keith has endorsed Obama, the country music star said it's too early to say if Obama has his vote. Keith adds whoever he votes for it should make no difference to his fans.
"The last thing you need to do is go find you a star and go listen to who they vote for because they usually know the least," Keith said.
